Effect Of Teachers’ Training On Students’ Academic 2 Performance

The research was focused on the effect of teachers’ training or academic staff training on students’ academic performance. The objectives of the study were to investigate the effect of teachers’ training on students’ academic performance and the ways in which teachers’ training or academic staff training can lead to improved student learning. Questionnaires were developed to collect data from secondary-level students and teachers. Simple random sampling technique and L.R. Gay were used. To collect data, the researcher personally visited the schools. Data were collected from 300 respondents, out of which 180 students of Grades IX and X from FG girls’ schools were considered as the sample for data collection. A quantitative design was used, and the data were analyzed using frequency and percentage. The results revealed that teachers’ training had a positive effect on classroom instruction and academic work, classroom management, students’ behavior, assignments, and the development of relationships with students. Teachers must be provided with appropriate information and teaching skills that can enhance students’ success by offering feedback to them. By creating an environment of trust and strengthening the process of accountability in school systems, problems related to teachers’ training could be resolved. Political interference should be minimized, and merit must be followed in teacher recruitment and training.
